Under cold and bleak conditions, Love came from behind to beat Elena Brucknor of Valley Christian High in San Jose, California, and broke the meet record of 54.29m set by Holmwood Technical’s Gleneve Grange in 2013 in the process.
Two weeks ago at the MVP meet, Love, who also won the Class 1 event at the ISSA champs and CARIFTA Under 20, had beaten Grange’s mark of 54.66m which was the National Junior Record then.
Hydel’s Devoia Brown was third with 48.34m, while Petersfield High’s Shyledeen Smith finished ninth with 41.37m.
